About UPC
Built with Precision. Delivered with Pride.
Employee-owned and community-driven, we’ve built our reputation on quality, trust, and dedication to customer success since 1971.
Who We Are
United Plastic Components Inc. is more than a plastic extrusion manufacturer — we are a team of skilled engineers, machinists, and problem-solvers who take pride in helping our customers bring their ideas to life. Based in Exeter, Ontario, we operate out of a 32,000 square-foot facility designed for flexibility, precision, and growth. Our expertise spans over five decades of hands- on experience, working closely with customers across North America and beyond to deliver plastic profile solutions that meet the most demanding requirements.
Founded in 1971 with just a few employees and a vision for quality and innovation, United Plastic Components has grown into a trusted partner in custom plastic manufacturing. Today, we are proud to be an employee-owned company — a structure that fosters accountability, pride of ownership, and a shared commitment to excellence in every part we produce.
What We Do
We specialize in custom plastic extrusion — from simple tubes and channels to complex porthole, co-extruded, and tri-extruded profiles. Whether you’re starting with a rough idea or a finished CAD drawing, our experienced engineering team will work with you to select the best materials, develop the tooling, and optimize the extrusion process for your application.
Our in-house capabilities include:
- Tool and die design and fabrication
- 7 main extruders with various screw types and capacities
- Co- and tri-extrusion
- Post-extrusion services like punching, notching, cutting, slitting, labeling, and more
- On-site quality assurance for rigorous testing and inspection
- Custom packaging and labeling solutions
By controlling every step of the process — from design to delivery — we’re able to ensure quality, consistency, and repeatability across every order, regardless of size or complexity.
How We Work
At United Plastic Components, our process is built around collaboration and trust. We view every project as a partnership and work closely with program managers, design engineers, and entrepreneurs to deliver customized plastic solutions with real-world performance.
We understand that no two applications are alike. That’s why we offer complete material selection guidance, precision tooling design, and post-processing options tailored to your unique needs. Our ISO 9001:2015 certification reflects our commitment to quality and continuous improvement, while our robust documentation and quality controls ensure full traceability and peace of mind.
Because we build our own tooling in-house using high-grade stainless steel and advanced coatings, we can achieve tight tolerances, rapid prototyping, and faster time-to-market. Our preventative maintenance program and die storage system also ensure your tooling is always production-ready for future orders.
