Production & Post-Processing
Flexible. Scalable. Built for Precision.
At United Plastic Components, production is more than just pushing resin through a die — it’s the complete transformation of your design into a consistent, high-quality, finished part. With seven extrusion lines, multiple portable co-extruders, and a full suite of inline and secondary processing capabilities, we’re built to handle everything from simple single-material runs to complex co-extruded profiles with multiple finishes — all under one roof.
Whether you need 500 feet or 500,000, our production and post-processing teams ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency every step of the way.
Versatile Extrusion Lines
Our facility is equipped with seven primary extrusion lines, each optimized for different profile sizes, resin types, and production volumes. We match each job to the right line based on your profile geometry, material characteristics, and volume requirements.
- Multiple line configurations for part sizes ranging from micro profiles to wide panels
- Temperature and pressure monitoring across zones for process consistency
- High-output extruders for volume efficiency without sacrificing quality
- Precision screw types selected for your material and fill content
When required, we integrate co-extruders to run multi-material or multi-color profiles, including rigid/flexible blends, dual-durometer components, and decorative caps.
Inline Processing Capabilities
Many components require more than just profile forming. Our inline processing stations are custom-built to support part-specific requirements, minimizing handling while maximizing precision and repeatability.
We offer extensive inline capabilities, including:
- Vacuum calibration and water bath cooling for tight dimensional tolerances
- Cut-to-length units synchronized to profile speed for consistent sizing
- Inline punching and notching for mounting features or functional cutouts
- Labeling, taping/adhesives and/or marking systems for traceability and branding
Because these systems are developed in-house by our tooling and production teams, we can quickly modify or build new downstream setups as your part evolves.
Secondary Operations
If your part requires finishing beyond the extrusion line, we offer a full suite of secondary operations that help deliver a ready-to-use component — whether it’s going into a sub- assembly or onto a retail shelf.
Secondary services include:
We can stage operations inline, offline, or through dedicated post-processing work cells depending on volume, complexity, and tolerance requirements.
- Drilling, routing, and machining
- Texturing
- Printing or embossing for branding, instructions or patent information
- Custom packaging and kitting to streamline your fulfillment
Flexible Volume & Scheduling
Whether you’re producing short runs for prototyping or long-term production for OEM supply, we scale to meet your timeline and budget. We support flexible scheduling, JIT production, blanket orders, and customer stocking programs to help reduce lead times and simplify logistics.
We maintain:
- Open capacity for quick-turn prototyping
- Tight-run repeatability and tool setups
- Serialized part numbering and documentation for traceability
- Warehouse staging for scheduled shipments or Kanban fulfillment
You get the responsiveness of a nimble manufacturer with the infrastructure of a full-scale operation.
Built-In Efficiency
From setup to shipment, our production team is focused on lean manufacturing, waste reduction, and continuous improvement. We monitor and refine each job to reduce scrap, shorten cycle times, and improve quality without increasing cost.
All runs include:
- Real-time quality checks by trained operators
- Process control documentation
- Statistical process control (SPC) where required
- Post-run reviews to evaluate setup and throughput
