In-House Die Design and Fabrication
Unlike many extruders who outsource tooling, UPC designs and fabricates all extrusion dies in-house. This gives us complete control over quality, timing, and tool life — and allows us to make rapid adjustments when needed.
Our Tool & Die team works closely with Engineering during the design phase to ensure each die is optimized for flow, cooling, and ease of extrusion. Once approved, the die is precision-machined from high-quality stainless steel using CNC equipment, then hand-finished to exact specifications.

Tool Maintenance & Storage
To ensure longevity and performance, we don’t just build dies — we maintain them. After every production run, tooling is inspected, cleaned, and stored in our dedicated die management system. Preventative maintenance is performed as needed, and critical dimensions are re- certified to guarantee repeatability on future orders.
We also retain all digital tooling files and build specs, enabling quick refurbishment or rebuilds for long-term programs.
Responsive Modifications
Because every part behaves differently in production, we understand the need for flexibility. If a tool requires tuning during startup or rework during the life of a project, our in-house team can implement changes quickly — without waiting on an outside supplier.
